# Article 78. Stages of the examination procedure

Chapter VIII · Section 2

(1) The examination procedure for alleged cases of infringement of the legislation on the processing of personal data shall comprise:

a) the preliminary examination; and/or

b) the investigation.

(2) An investigation into the case shall be ordered under the conditions laid down in art. 81. In all other cases, the investigation stage shall be omitted.
