# Article 77. Initiation of the examination procedure

Chapter VIII · Section 2

(1) The Centre shall initiate the examination procedure in respect of alleged cases of infringement of this Law or of other normative acts on the processing of personal data:

a) on a complaint by a data subject; or

b) ex officio.

(2) The Centre may initiate an ex officio examination on the basis of the information available to it on the alleged infringement of the legislation, in accordance with art. 81.
