# Article 58. Mission of the Centre

Chapter VII · Section 2

(1) The Centre shall supervise and monitor the application of this Law and of other normative acts on the processing of personal data, in order to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons in relation to the processing of personal data.

(2) The Centre shall not be competent to supervise processing operations carried out by courts acting in the administration of justice.
