# Article 44. General principle for transfers

Chapter V

(1) Any personal data which are undergoing processing or are intended for processing after transfer to another state or to an international organisation may be transferred only if, subject to the other provisions of this Law, the conditions laid down in this Chapter are complied with by the controller and the processor, including for onward transfers of personal data from the foreign state or from the international organisation to another state or to another international organisation. All provisions of this Chapter shall be applied in order to ensure that the level of protection of natural persons guaranteed by this Law is not undermined.

(2) This Chapter shall not apply to transfers of personal data to the member states of the European Economic Area. No special authorisation shall be required for such transfers.
